This thesis is site driven. Inspired by the abandoned MBTA subway tunnels of Boston, Massachusetts, the thesis is defined by the character of the existing site and the nature of the subterranean experience. Of more than 10 abandoned tunnels and stations, the specific location was chosen according to the following parameters.
